Back to school, summer savings and informed decisions

The start of the school year is bringing its share of sometimes unexpected or higher-than-expected expenses. School supplies, subscriptions, transportation, housing... all these expenses can quickly eat up your budget.

Whether you’re a student, parent or young worker, take this moment to review your finances and think about your priorities and the choices you could make to help smooth the back-to-school transition.

You were able to put aside some money this summer? Your teenage son or daughter worked a summer job and is looking for ways to grow their savings? You have heard people talking about quick returns or various kinds of financial content? In this newsletter, we’ll help explain things clearly so you can make informed choices and not fall for promises that seem too good to be true.

Also, some of them are paid to talk about financial products but don’t always make it clear.

What type of investor are you?

What type of investor are you?

Before acting on a finfluencer’s advice, you need to acquire a better understanding of your personal tolerance to risk and think about your own particular circumstances. Advice found online might not be suitable for all investors. Because everyone’s needs are different, what works for one person might not work for someone else.

Smart investing begins with one thing: knowing yourself.
